  • 2 cups milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 4 cinnamon sticks (or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon)
  • 4 vanilla beans, split and scraped (or 4 teaspoons vanilla extract)
  • 2 star anises (optional)
  • 4 teaspoons loose-leaf black tea or 4 black tea bags (optional)
  • Honey or sweetener of choice

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, bring water to a boil.
  2. Add cinnamon sticks and vanilla beans to the pot, turn off the heat, and cover. If using ground cinnamon and vanilla extract, add them directly instead.
  3. Let steep for about 10 minutes.
  4. For optional black tea, add it now and brew for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  5. In a separate pot, gently heat the milk until warm but not boiling.
  6. Strain the infused mixture into the warm milk.
  7. Stir in your chosen sweetener until dissolved.
  8. Serve hot or chill over ice for a refreshing drink.
