- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 1–2 Tbs mild chili powder
- 4 oz spaghetti or angel hair pasta, broken into thirds
- 1 can (15 oz) chili beans, undrained
- 1 can (46 oz) tomato juice
- 1 Tbs granulated sugar
- Kosher salt and pepper to taste
- In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent.
- Stir in the chili powder, salt, and pepper before adding the broken pasta.
- Pour in the undrained beans and tomato juice; add sugar and stir well. Bring to a gentle boil.
- Reduce heat and let simmer uncovered for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot with freshly baked cinnamon rolls alongside.
