  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, diced
  • 12 Tbs mild chili powder
  • 4 oz spaghetti or angel hair pasta, broken into thirds
  • 1 can (15 oz) chili beans, undrained
  • 1 can (46 oz) tomato juice
  • 1 Tbs granulated sugar
  • Kosher salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, brown the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent.
  2. Stir in the chili powder, salt, and pepper before adding the broken pasta.
  3. Pour in the undrained beans and tomato juice; add sugar and stir well. Bring to a gentle boil.
  4. Reduce heat and let simmer uncovered for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve hot with freshly baked cinnamon rolls alongside.
