  • 1 1/4 cups (156 g) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 5 tbsp (35 g) black cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup (168 g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup (165 g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup (50 g) granulated white sugar
  • 2 egg yolks, at room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup (170 g) Halloween M&Ms
  • 3 tbsp (36 g) Halloween jimmies
  • candy eyeballs for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Whisk together flour, black cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream softened butter with light brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Mix in egg yolks and vanilla extract until pale and fluffy.
  5. Gradually combine dry ingredients with wet ingredients until just mixed.
  6. Fold in Halloween M&Ms and sprinkles gently.
  7. Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them 2 inches apart. Decorate with extra M&Ms and candy eyeballs on top.
  8. Bake for 10-11 minutes or until set but soft in the center; cool on racks.
