  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream (or plant-based alternative)
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch (for thickening)
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • 1 cup long-grain rice
  • 2 cups water or broth
  • 200 grams fresh green beans

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice until clear. In a pot, combine rice and water or broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer covered for about 18-20 minutes.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken with garlic powder, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook chicken for 6-7 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  3. Remove chicken from skillet. Pour in chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Stir in heavy cream and cornstarch until combined.
  4. Return chicken to the skillet, spooning sauce over it. Simmer on low while preparing green beans.
  5. In boiling water, cook green beans for about 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain.
  6. Serve fluffed rice topped with creamy herb chicken and green beans on the side.
