  • 1 cup browned butter
  • 1 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cups peeled and chopped apples
  • For frosting: 6 oz cream cheese, 1/2 stick butter, 3/4 cup powdered sugar, 1/2 tsp cinnamon, 3 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter until golden and cool slightly. Sauté apples with butter and cinnamon until tender.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk browned butter and brown sugar together. Mix in eggs and vanilla.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon; gradually add to wet mixture. Fold in caramelized apples.
  4. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Pour batter into an 8×8 or 9×9 inch pan; bake for 35-45 minutes until set.
  5. Beat cream cheese and butter for frosting; add powdered sugar, cinnamon, and maple syrup until fluffy.
  6. Once blondies are cool, frost and slice into squares.
