  • 1 cup + 2 tablespoons warm water
  • 1 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons salt
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 tablespoon grated parmesan cheese
  • Marinara sauce (for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl or stand mixer, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water; let sit until foamy.
  2. Mix in salt, oil, and two cups of flour until combined. Gradually add remaining flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough until smooth, then place it in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for one hour.
  4. Punch down the dough, divide it into 16 pieces, and shape each into a bone by rolling into ropes and cutting slits on each side.
  5. Place on a greased baking sheet, cover, and let rise for another 45 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 425°F during the last rise.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Brush with melted butter, sprinkle garlic salt and parmesan cheese; serve warm with marinara.
